it doesn't happen that way

have you seen alton brown's new road food show where he tools across the country on a motorcycle in 30 days and stops at all these out of the way restaurants to eat their specialty? it's pretty cool. they solicited public opinion on places that had great "road food" - restaurants, bars, etc - and then plotted out a 30 day trip from east coast to west coast based on the places they would stop. isn't life kind of like that - where we plan it out - we're born, we go to school, then maybe college or some other training, then we work for many years, and then retire and then we . . . but, it rarely works out as we planned, doesn't it? it just doesn't always seem to happen that way. it didn't with alton either - the wipeout on the back road wasn't in the agenda. life has a way of throwing curves or whatever - yeah, even a bean ball from time to time. you know what's really nice though, God's plan always happens the way He intended.

i'm back #2

the first and most obvious question is this: if my previous post was true then why are you having to post #2? that is a good question since there is a good bit of time since my last post. am i just forgetful? did i make too many trips to the outlet mall at the lake? was i sick? do i not care? do i think that blogging is an absolutely waste of time? were my wife and i on a vacation? these are all good questions - very good questions. however, i think the answer to all of them are no. actually, i don't have a good, simple answer. it's actually a lot more complicated than just no or yes. the bottom line: aren't you glad that God is more dependable than me?
